Imbarazzato Pfff, sorry lobo but before to write the last message i didnt see that we are in the "artwork" section.
Anyway, i still think that with a different postwork this experiment can turn into a masterpiece. Wink

bye.

Hi lobo, and wellcome here. Smile

Sorry, but i guess that this good portrait ld be much more better without the coarse effect that u gave to the picture.
I like the frame; in the moment u took it, the character had deep, communicative eyes...and all his face helped his eyes to be able to talk with us now.
A powerful image, that, as i told u, i think u can impove with a more "photographic" use of the postwork. Wink

Anyway, congratulations.

Your shot is very nice for what it regards the two children and their look "to infinity and beyond" Very Happy Wink .... Actually the Flood filter applied in Photoshop IMHO gives to this beautiful picture a sort of "cheap" effect, that definitely I think was not needed. Anyway, all in all a good idea for the frame melting into water. Wink

Welcome between us! Ok!

Ciao

First of all Welcome!
Basicly I like a lot this pic for the close cut and for the expression of your friend, but on the other side I agree with Ocio for prefering a 2:3 vertical format and also i see too much usm and I don't like very much the desaturation you gave it, naturally that's just a personal opinion.

And to end in my p.s. i was wondering if you understand italian or not, well you answered!

I hope my english has been good enough
Ciao

Fondamentalmente la foto mi piace per il taglio stretto e la sua espressione, mentre concordo con ocio per il taglio 3:4 verticale. Inoltre trovo troppa maschera di contrasto e non mi piace la desaturazione Boh?

Hello lobo! and welcome in our out-of-brain comunity! Very Happy

I like your pic very much. It gives a very important message, and it does in a simple way (the best way to be immediately understood).

I think however, that it is not in correct section of the forum.
This beautifull portrait would be more appreciated in the section "Ritratto" (that means portrait), or also in the "Artwork" section in which we usually put the photos that has had some post-porduction (except from standard fine tuning such as contrast, brightness, white balance, and something like that).

I'd suggetst you also to present yourself in our "new entry" section (in italian is "Per i nuovi utenti" and you can find it following this link http://www.photo4u.it/viewforum.php?f=71 ).
You will find lots of people that will welcome you! Smile
Be ready for the lots of questions that our users will ask you! Very Happy

Bye!

Really nice shoot, it seems to talk about the long way to do, the future life of these children.
The black border is a strange frame, as the border stops in the water... Surprised I cannot understand if it's real or not Wink

Just a pair of personal notes (just my pov), hope you like them..
maybe more upper space (more sky) and less lower (less sea) could give the photo a sensation of wider horizon.. how can I say.. more space to the future?

You show us also an interesting postwork job.. first time I see this kind of frame, really original, but I think you can improve it.
After the first look you can see a little perspective incongruence, just where water touch legs. Seems like two different inclination planes: water before boys and water further boys.
Trying to say in a different way: the picture was shooted with a tele, but the first plane looks like a wide lens shooting attachment.
Try to progressively out of focus this area, simulating the same tele dept of field.

oh.. welcome to photo4u.it! Wink

hi,

regarding the frame...this is plug-in (4 PS &PsP) - "Flood"
also thx 4 your thoughts about my pic...show me different perspective for the same pic... Wink

viso molto interessante ed ottima espressione; bella la composizionee moltro buona la leggibilità. A mio parere troppo accentuata la maschera di contrasto.

One small thing: i would have cut the top as far as the head of your child
